Ahh, i love this one! This classic Scorpions album has always been one of my absolute favorites!I feel that this masterpiece has to be one of the best hard rock albums that never got any credit and is extremely underrated.
The Scorpions fifth studio album is the darkhorse effort of their lofty back catalog of albums.Historically,this was the end of the first phase in the Scorps carrer in that it was their last outing with guitar wizard Ulrich Roth or better known as Uli Jon Roth.After this,Ulrich was gone for good and the band singed to Mercury records and started their string of commercial albums.This is the Scorpions at their artistic and experimental peak, never again would they delve into this kind of musical estacy displayed here.Uli Jon Roth must be heard to be belived,his guitar playing is absolute heavenly!I tell you, this guy could easily put Blackmore,Malmsteen,VanHalen or whoever to shame.The whole band on this album is exellent,Rudolf,Meine,Uli and Francis are firing on all cylinders.This is also the first album with Herman Rarebell on drums and he really adds that kick in the pant's to the rhythm section.The album is definatly one of the most dark,moody,experimental things this band has ever attempted.

Wyvern's history dates back to 1985! After having release two demos, the Italian band released its debut album, 'The Red Flame Of Pain', in 1990; a reasonable heavy speed metal album that hardly got noticed to the rising extremer forms of metal. In the following years the band also didn't come furthers than a couple more demos. In October of last year, twenty years after the release of the debut album, the follow-up 'Lords Of Winter' was a fact after all. Although we can't really speak of a new album – considering the fact that most of the songs are re-recordings of old demo stuff – this definitely is a new start for the Italians. Lords Of Metal spoke to bass player and one of the original members Fausto Tinello about the band's history, 'Lords Of Winter and future plans.

INFO : This version restores all the spoken word intros before each song that were not included on the initial release (with the exception of the "Jesus Saves" intro). It also has new artwork, a variation of the original album's back cover (the white Charvel guitar with the roses, this time against a nighttime city backdrop). This edition replaces the version of "Jesus Saves" that appeared on the first pressing of the album with the one that was included on the "From the Gutter to the Stage" compilation, and which the band claims is the "original" one.

 This is the second heep album to feature john wetton. in fact, he takes the lead vocal on the first track 'one way or another.' this fast song is reminiscent of wetton-era king crimson. it's great and correctly placed because the music to follow is so unlike it. from the searing Box guitar on 'weep in silence' on through the hensley counterattack of 'can't keep a good band down,' this 1976 release is byron's last with the band. the production is crisp and clear, the arrangements, for the most part, are understated and the overall mood is one of reflection and world-weariness. byron is all over this record, yet his histrionics are nowhere evident.
